Our 6th Gen Bronco Rear Shock Skids were designed to protect the rear shocks from damage on the trail. The lower shock bolts, lower links & link mounts are susceptible to damage from striking large rocks or other obstacles when driving off-road. Our Shock Guards shield these components from contact with objects passing beneath your Bronco.

These skids are located on the lowest part of the rear axle, which helps you to slide right off of obstacles beneath you. Both the shock & link mount skids are a single piece, rather than separate skids, and tying them together improves their strength.

These will work with most aftermarket shocks. However, shocks with piggyback reservoirs that are locked on the bottom will not fit. These will also work with most lift kits and aftermarket links using Johnny Joints and Heim connections.

** Please Note: Not compatible with Hoss 3.0 suspension systems. **

Great skid with one issue

This Bronco skid has no drainage holes (unlike similar Tacoma version). My rear shocks bolts were heavily rusted and there was a pool of water in the bottom of each skid. Highly recommend drilling a drainage hole in the bottom of the tubs.

Thank you for your feedback. I have sent this info to the product team to review.

Designed for easy installation, but…

The slots for mounting under the bolt heads are super wide for easy installation, (all you have to do is loosen the bolts) but I honestly wish the slots were more narrow so there’s more contact under the bolt heads, or were holes instead.
I jacked it up and removed the tires for easy access, and to get weight off the shock bolts, but that’s not necessary.
They fit great and should protect well if they stay put.

Well equipped for a beating, super easy install with the right tools

These things are beefy and offer great coverage. Like everything I’ve bought, these were well packaged. It’s pretty cool that DV8 managed to get a logo on there as well. Not much else to say since it’s armor, so some install notes—took me about 20 mins to complete both sides. On a 2023 MY the nut on the shock bolt (27mm head) is a 30mm. I used a box wrench but you could use a giant crescent with no problem. The shock bolt is torqued to a ridiculous 350 ft lbs, but big Bertha, my Milwaukee Fuel 1/2 impact made child’s play of breaking loose, and tightening the bolt. Love that thing. Once it busted loose I used a dead blow hammer to wail on the bolt so it’s flush against the mount and all the space was on the nut side. No need to center the shock bolt, there’s a gap for its head in the armor. You only need to center the bolt for the upper link. Presuming you give ample room the armor just slides right in to place, then tighten it down and call it a day.

Happy to hear Big Bertha was around to make the job easier! Thanks for posting.

Hoss 3.0 shock/trailing arm skid

Looks great but my dumb ass didn’t read all the way down the description and it doesn’t fit the Hoss 3.0
If you guys guys would’ve made it half-inch longer, where the fox shock reservoir is, it would’ve fit perfectly
After hammering it a little bit to make the front oval instead of straight and grinding the notches where the bolts are, I was able to fit it! Minor modification! Please let me know when you guys adjust or make something different for the Hoss 3.0

We do plan to have an option for the Hoss 3.0. Happy to hear you made them work.
