The Bronco Spare Tire Guard was designed with several functions in mind. After upgrading to larger tires, the spare tire has been known to cause flex in the tailgate due to the added weight on the factory carrier. The tire guard reinforces the tailgate by mounting to multiple points along the tailgate, increasing rigidity. Additionally, the guard can accept locking pins (not included) for security against theft.

The tire guard can fit up to a 20-inch wheel with a 37x12.50-inch spare tire. The OEM back-up camera retains full visibility when using the tire guard. Installation is a simple, bolt-on process with no drilling required.

* Please Note: This is NOT compatible with the Ford HD Tire Carrier. A high offset wheel will require 1.5” wheel spacer or ET lug nuts. This is not compatible with -44 offset wheels, or any wheel wider than 9.5.”

Great looking top tier aesthetic rack. Needs improvement

Great looking top tier aesthetic rack. Needs improvement in key areas related to movement, rigidity and such.
1. The license plate relocation for a 37'' tire needs to be purchased separately. Even when installed, it only attaches to the carrier and not the tailgate, causing to be loose and make a ton of noise when closing.
2. The whole left side of this rack is not bolted down. Instead, they use number bumpers that dent the tailgate from contact and sound loud and cheap when operating tailgate.
3. Dropped internal nuts is a thing! Make sure you can get on the inside of the tailgate if this happens. Nuts welded to the tailgate came loose after the added pressure of a 37'' wheel and tire.
4. I still had issues with the OEM hinges, and noticed the tailgate became out of alignment more and more each day. Ended up buying super tough hinges with stop from a 3rd party.

Long story short, you buy this to stand out and look great! This is especially true with the roof panels and hardtop removed.
Still works and looks better than ever!

Fantastic accessory

Just had this installed and I love it! Going to use it to lash chairs and other items that take up space in my cargo area. This will be my 5th DV8 accessory added to my Bronco. Front camera relocation kit, rear shock skid plates, DV8 12k winch, lower control arm skid plates. DV8 is the way to go.

Easy straight forward install. Very happy with the look and ruggedness. Would have been nice to have a second person so recommend that just to make it easier.

Looks good, needs a spacer

Would be nice to have in the description that you need a spacer to fit the factory 35” inch tire/wheel. You don’t find out until you go to mount it or read the very bottom of the instructions. Now I get to order more crap and leave my spare off until it arrives.
