The Bronco Spare Tire Guard was designed with several functions in mind. After upgrading to larger tires, the spare tire has been known to cause flex in the tailgate due to the added weight on the factory carrier. The tire guard reinforces the tailgate by mounting to multiple points along the tailgate, increasing rigidity. Additionally, the guard can accept locking pins (not included) for security against theft.

The tire guard can fit up to a 20-inch wheel with a 37x12.50-inch spare tire. The OEM back-up camera retains full visibility when using the tire guard. Installation is a simple, bolt-on process with no drilling required.

* Please Note: This is NOT compatible with the Ford HD Tire Carrier. A high offset wheel will require 1.5” wheel spacer or ET lug nuts. This is not compatible with -44 offset wheels, or any wheel wider than 9.5.”

Fantastic accessory

Just had this installed and I love it! Going to use it to lash chairs and other items that take up space in my cargo area. This will be my 5th DV8 accessory added to my Bronco. Front camera relocation kit, rear shock skid plates, DV8 12k winch, lower control arm skid plates. DV8 is the way to go.

Easy straight forward install. Very happy with the look and ruggedness. Would have been nice to have a second person so recommend that just to make it easier.

Looks good, needs a spacer

Would be nice to have in the description that you need a spacer to fit the factory 35” inch tire/wheel. You don’t find out until you go to mount it or read the very bottom of the instructions. Now I get to order more crap and leave my spare off until it arrives.

DV8 comes in as Advertised

Bought the DV8 because I liked the look of it and the way the guard/brace goes around it. Came packaged very well. Very solid piece. A few things I will critique. The downloaded instructions need to be updated. There were parts of the installation they did not talk about in the PDF. Not hard to figure out, but would have been nice to have it in there. Also, I will suggest you get a person to help you. The DV8 is not heavy, but awkward to hold and place. To hold the OEM carrier in place and to try to place the DV8 over it can be a pita for one person to do.

The fit and finish is very nice. The logo is subtle but visible. I love the swing gate. DV8, MAKE SOME ACCESORRY PANELS!!! I love the aggressive look and the fact it looks like no other carrier on the market.
