United By Bronco 2025
This winter we had the honor of joining fellow rock crawlers and off-road adventurers for adrenaline filled trail runs and community events at United By Bronco 2025 in Hurricane, UT. As this year's title sponsor, along with Addictive Desert Designs, we enjoyed having a hands-on experience helping the UBB team prepare a memorable experience for everyone involved. As always, there were many highlights throughout the weekend that left us wishing our time wasn’t coming to a close when we packed up our Bronco to head home on Sunday morning. Whether you missed us this year or we saw you on the trail, read on to hear about what made UBB 2025 so memorable and exhilarating!
John’s Trail: Thursday, February 27th
On the first day, we started with John’s Trail, located in Sand Hollow State Park, which is 1.1 miles long and rated at a 7. The trail is moderately difficult with some technical sections such as step inclines, off-camber sections, and stepped climbs. A majority of the hardest sections featured bypasses, but almost everyone opted to participate in tackling each obstacle. While being a technical trail, we found it overall to not be very difficult. Some of the climbs that lead to higher ground resulted in great views that served as an introduction to the landscape of Southwest Utah. Overall, we enjoyed John’s trail as it acted as a great warmup for the rest of the trip.
We finished the trail around 1pm, so we took a short trek to Zion National Park which is only 35 miles from Sand Hollow. This gave us an opportunity to do a scenic photo shoot with the DV8 Bronco. We took the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive and quickly came upon multiple areas that made for great backdrops. We also had the opportunity to drive through the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel, which was completed in 1930 and takes you straight through the side of a cliff.
After a scenic afternoon, we headed to the Sand Drags, which had switched locations from previous years, so you now drag race uphill for added difficulty and entertainment. Lastly, we ended a great first day at an AZ Broncos hosted dinner event which gave us the opportunity to spend quality time with a lot of the people that we met on the trail. We always enjoy these events where we get to talk with other members of the off-road community and gain insight to their trail experiences and personal endeavors.
The Ledges: Friday, February 28th
We started off the day hitting The Ledges which is a 1.5 mile trail that is rated at a 7. The trail had some difficult portions, such as dips that were guaranteed to tag your front bumper. Trail Militia accompanied us and a small group of 6th Gen Broncos on this trail, and during the driver’s meeting, our trail leader warned us of two hard obstacles that we would encounter at the very beginning of the trail. However, the strong winds from the days prior completely covered these two obstacles in sand, so we had to find a new way to drop into the trail.
The Ledges runs along a cliffside, so we were gifted with some incredible views that won’t be soon forgotten. The trail earns its name from the various ledges that you have to drop down into, and there is one ledge in particular that had most of the 2-Door Bronco’s back tires off the ground on the way down. We had lunch at one of the scenic overlooks on the trail, and we were off the path around 2pm.
While we were navigating The Ledges trail, two of our close friends from the Sin City Broncos group were tackling Milt’s Mile which is a 1.6 mile trail with a difficulty of 7. While attempting one of the obstacles, our friend, Dan, broke a CV axle, and we luckily had a spare in our trunk. We quickly headed over to Milt’s Mile and helped him with an on-the-spot CV axle replacement. After a quick 45 minute axle job, we headed over to the Chute Challenge to watch everybody compete for the best time.
During our time at UBB, we decided to run our newest bumper design - The Tube Series. Since there was another Bronco at the event with this unreleased design, we decided to take advantage of the golden hour to capture amazing photo and video content for the bumper’s upcoming release. Thanks to the perfect weather and lighting combination, we obtained some fantastic shots. One of the many reasons we love attending events like United By Bronco, is that it grants us the opportunity to not only test our products, but to also spend time with others in our community doing unique photo and video shoots.
The Maze: Saturday, March 1st
On the third and final day, we hit The Maze for a memorable last trail run. Its total distance was 1 mile, and it was rated at an 8. While it was rated slightly higher than the other two trails, we found this trail to be significantly more difficult. The Maze was one of the coolest trails we’d ever been on. It featured non-stop technical obstacles, and it winded along a cliffside which made for some heart-pounding obstacles that were pretty close to the edge. Most of the group consisted of older Broncos and buggies. Only us and two of our friends tackled the trail in 6th Gen Broncos.
During one of the drops, one of the older Bronco builds snapped their front driveshaft. Shortly thereafter, the axle inverted which caused both shock shafts to break simultaneously. We all had to think out of the box and use some creativity to come up with a solution, and the team ended up wrapping the driver’s winch cable around the differential and using the winch to rotate the axle back into the proper position. The Bronco was pulled the rest of the way out of the trail. Additionally, there was a RZR with us that flipped on its side on two different occasions, but other than some body damage, everything and everybody was OK. Both of these situations show that no matter the circumstances, you should always be prepared for vehicle recovery when on the trail and take proper safety precautions such as wearing your seatbelt and ensuring your roll cage/safety bars (on equipped vehicles) are intact. Overall, we were glad nobody got hurt, and it is always humbling to see how quickly the off-road community comes together to help others in need when on the trail.
After The Maze, we headed straight to the vendor night which was in a different location than the last few years. It is now held at Pecan Valley Resort, which had the perfect space directly in front of their main office to host the whole UBB crew. The turnout was great, and we were afforded the opportunity to talk to so many of the attendees who joined us in the weekend’s events. We are very grateful to everyone who stopped by to say hi! Overall, the vendor night was a great ending to an amazing weekend.
